Human Resources - Director or Vice President (CC1003)

Responsibilities: Executes and develops corporate human resources policy. Directs and coordinates human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services. Analyzes wage and salary data to determine competitive compensation plan. Prepares personnel forecast to project employment needs. Trains managers regarding company policy regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits. Consults legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state law. Maintains and develops human resources system that meets senior management information needs. Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the company. Studies legislation and arbitration decisions to assess industry trends.

Requirements: BA or BS in related field, preferably in organizational behavior or human resources; MBA preferred. Solid human resources management experience in a start-up and/or building a HR department. Experience developing, implementing employment practices, benefits, and compensation. Well versed in OSHA, EEOC, ADA, FMLA. Certification in HR preferred.

Director of Business Development (RS1001)

Responsibilities: Spearheads MDvista’s efforts in identifying and developing new business partners and opportunities, e.g., in medical device industry. Initiates discussions, negotiates terms, closes deals, and manages business relationships with new and existing strategic partners/ alliances. Manages all business activities and projects related to new business initiatives. Proactively solicits pharmaceutical and other relevant parties for sponsorship of the MDvista website. Promotes website through healthcare industry channels. Plays a critical role in refining MDvista’s brand. Responsible for recruiting and cultivating the business development team. Reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer.

Requirements: MBA with strong business development experience, preferably with an Internet start-up. Self-motivated with excellent leadership, relationship management, negotiation, and organizational skills. Knowledge and interest in the healthcare industry desired.

Controller (CC1002)

Responsibilities: Provides corporate-level financial analysis and accounting and information systems support for the organization. Works with line manager to develop and institute cost accounting, financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable/ receivable systems.

Requirements: BS/BA degree in accounting, economics, or business administration. CPA certification or MBA strongly preferred. 8-15 years strong general accounting experience. Prior controller responsibilities in a related environment. Familiarity with SEC requirements desired. Start-up experience desired.

Paralegal/ Investor Relations Coordinator (CC1001)

Responsibilities: Works with the management team, chief financial officer, and corporate counsel in venture capital financings, public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and licensing. Manages corporate stock plan. Drafts stock option agreements and employment agreements. Reviews vendor agreements. Communicates with investors and potential corporate partners.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate and 1 or more years of corporate law experience. Strong quantitative, communication, and writing skills. Knowledge of corporate and securities law compliance. Previous paralegal experience in corporate division or securities desired. Working knowledge of securities and capital structures desired. Start-up experience desired.

Recent graduates with a bachelor's degree and outstanding academic performance will be considered.

Copy Editor (CF1001)

Responsibilities: Edits articles submitted by physician writers and editors contributing to MDvista professional education products. Communicates with authors to complete the editing process and with other team members to accomplish publication on the website. Properly formats content for publication on the website, using American Medical Association style manual. Is very attentive to punctuation, grammar, syntax, and other details in written materials. Meets deadlines as requested. Is committed to quality and continuous skill improvement. Able to multi-task successfully. Adapts easily to new and challenging situations. Exhibits a professional attitude in dealing and communicating with internal and external clients. Assists with training and orientation of new copy editors. Proactively contributes to and supports the team. Understands company’s vision, objectives, and business model. Completes other duties as requested by supervisor.

Requirements: BA or BS. Excellent command of English language and medical terminology required. Skilled in Microsoft Office for Windows, particularly Word, including Track Changes, Outlook; and Web search engines. Experience in a medical or healthcare organization preferred. Knowledge of American Medical Association style manual preferred.
